Welcome to the Ross Davis Adventure Bursary!
This money is Ross’s and he would have wanted to see it spent on an
academic achievement…..whilst having a mighty fine time. That’s different
from other academic awards. Life’s
too short not to have fun- Ross knew
this better than anyone.
Ross was
an anaesthetic SpR at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, when he was killed by a car whilst cycling home from work. His previous anaesthetic career had taken him to the West
Dorset General Hospital at Dorchester and the Royal United Hospital in Bath, as well as Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. Hence this Bursary is open to the Peninsula, Bristol and Wessex Deaneries, for trainees of any level who are
training for a career in anaesthesia.
Our suggestions include:
Poorly funded OOPEs,overseas
sabbaticals or courses, overseas/ national
meetings or conferences (presenter/ author/ poster)… Or surprise us. But don’t forget to tell us about the fun bit- it's part of the
selection criteria!
Fill in the form, send it to the Honorary Secretary of SASWR (Society of
Anaesthetists of the South Western Region). Please include your updated CV and supporting documents.
Applications for the RDAB are welcome
from 1st January annually, closing date is 1st of May. The winner will hear from us and the award will be officially presented at the SASWR Autumn meeting of that
year. However, the money can be released before then! Applications by email only please to: honsec@saswr.org.uk
